The Tayside and Fife Archaeological Committee is a liaison group which aims to promote archaeology in Tayside (Perth and Kinross, Angus and Dundee) and Fife.

TAFAC brings together individuals and organisations sharing a common interest in promoting and protecting the archaeology of the area. This covers all periods: prehistory, the Picts, the Romans, the Medieval period and the modern period up to the 20th century.

Founded in 1977, TAFAC holds a popular annual Conference showcasing new discoveries in archaeology in Tayside and Fife. In 2020 and 2021, our conferences were held online due to COVID-19 restrictions. You can watch these talks as well as previous conference presentations filmed by Doug Rocks-Macqueen (scroll down to time travel between 2019 and 2015).

TAFAC publishes an annual journal and specialist monographs.  Our latest journal, Volume 29,  along with other recent journals is available to download freely from this site.

Our major publication reports on the Perth High Street Excavation are available as four separate Fascicules.
